The 2002 Roasted Slope Syrah is primarily Syrah, but also contains a bit of Viognier in the blend. The addition of Viognier gives this wine softness and approachability. Roasted Slope translates to Cote Rotie, a legendary Appellation in France’s Northern Rhone Valley.
The 2003 Esperance is a blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 30% Mourvedre. This wine is made in the tradition of Chateauneuf-du-Pape Region in the Southern Rhone Valley. It has ripe fruit flavors and noticable spiciness. The grapes’ natural yeasts were used to ferment this very nice blend.
