In 1970, Kenwood Vineyards was established in the Sonoma Valley AVA. Located in the old Pagani Brothers Building, the winery is surrounded by 22 acres of estate vineyards.

Kenwood Vineyards was founded in 1970. Kenwood offers Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, and Sauvignon Blanc.

The Kenwood 1999 Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon is the winery’s premiere wine. This recent Artist Series Wine comes from a legacy spanning more than 20 years. The grapes for the wine as well as the art for the label are chosen with attention and care. It contains a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

The 2002 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc pairs very nicely with seafood. It has ripe fruit flavors dominated by melon and peach. This is another example of a great Sauvignon Blanc that is priced very low due to Chardonnay’s dominance in America.

They also make a Zinfandel from the Jack London Ranch Vineyard that I enjoy. Full bodied, its alcohol, tannins and fruit balance well. This is the kind of wine that will convert someone who didn’t previously like big Zins.
