The Spenker Family lives on a 60 acre estate with vineyards and a winery. Chuck Spenker grows his own St George rootstocks and grafts his vines on-site. Along with making his own wine, he sells grapes to other wineries.
In the vineyard, the grapes are grown on head-trained vines that are carefully irrigated. Natural predators of vineyard pests are encouraged, and pesticides are used as little as possible.
The Spenker Family harvests their grapes by hand, basket pressed, punched down during fermentation, and aged in American oak barrels. The winery’s most recent release was their 2000 Lodi Estate Zinfandel.
