Bourassa Vineyards

In 2001, Vic Bourassa established Bourassa Vineyards in the southern part of Napa County. After tasting a glass of Mr. Bourassa’s homemade wine, Robert Mondavi encouraged him to start a commercial winery.

Bourassa Vineyards’ inaugural vintage consisted of 400 cases of Harmony3, a blend of the classic Bordeaux varietals. This wine was immediately successful, and it sold out quickly. Since then, Bourassa has expanded into producing Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, and a Port-style wine made with Primitivo.

Careful attention is paid to each step of the grape growing and winemaking processes. Grapes are picked by hand and carefully shipped to the winery. During fermentation, pump-overs are eschewed in favor of gently spraying wine over the cap. Oak barrels are carefully selected with varying amount of toast based on the varietal.

Bourassa’s current releases include the 2003 Harmony3, 2004 Rhapsody3 Syrah, 2005 Los Carneros Chardonnay, 2005 Napa Valley Zinfandel, 2005 Sauvignon Blanc, and Solera3 Port NV.
